IN-HOUSE MITE LEAGUE 


The In House Mites program is intended for those players who have completed a Learn to Skate and a Learn to Play program and are ready to take the next step into cross ice games.  Players should be able to skate the length of the ice in full equipment without assistance.

The IHM program is intended to
begin to impart the ideas of "team" hockey in a controlled, and fun environment.  The IHM program is run as three sessions throughout the year, from October to Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving through January and February through March.   The program includes two hour long session a week, a skills session on 
and half ice games.   Session day and time may vary during the year.

 The individual sessions will be posted to our registration page approximately one month before they begin and will include program costs and final session days and times. This program is open to all boys & girls born between dates specified on the registration.

LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY

The Learn to Play (LTP) program is intended for those players who have completed a Learn to Skate program and are ready to take the next step by introducing hockey basics of stick handling, passing, shootting, etc.  Players should be able to skate the the width of the ice in full equipment without assistance.

The LTP program is intended to
begin to impart the basics of hockey in a fun controlled environment through the use of individual skills drills and small area games drills.  The LTP program is run as three sessions throughout the year, from October to Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving through Christmas and January through March.   The program includes one skills session a week, on Saturday morning.

 The individual sessions will be posted to our registration page approximately one month before they begin and will include program costs and final session days and times. This program is open to all boys & girls born between
dates specified on the registration.

Required Equipment List for Learn to Play Hockey & House Mite League

Helmet with cage & name on top of helmet
Mouth guard (NO CLEAR MOUTH GUARDS)
Neck guard
Shoulder pads
Elbow pads
Ice Hockey gloves
Protective cup (Boys)
Pelvic protector (Girls)
Ice Hockey pants
Garter or combination protector with Velcro sock support
Ice Hockey socks
Shin guards
Ice Hockey skates
Ice Hockey stick
Juice, Water or Power Drink

 

  • Equipment should fit comfortably and there should be no protected parts of the body exposed.
  • Stick length in street shoes should measure to the players’ nose, in skates to the chin.
  • Young players who do not show a preference to a shooting side may start playing hockey with a straight stick. Once a preference is evident, a curved stick may be used.
  • Consult a qualified hockey equipment dealer or sports shop to ensure a proper fit for all hockey equipment.
  • Please make sure to routinely have skate blades sharpened.
